The first contact our church had with the Morales family was when Jacqueline Colson (nee Kinghan) met them in Peru when she was working for the Oasis Trust during her gap year. A number of months later, in the summer of 2000, the family came to Belfast to allow Cesar to study for a Masters in Theology. This lasted for approximately 18 months. Our church supported them while they were here and they often worshipped with us and got to know many members of the congregation. On their return to Peru we have continued to support them in the various ministry roles they have undertaken.
Approximately 12 years ago Cesar came back to Ireland for a short period and was able to reconnect with our church family. However, both Cesar and Jessica were able to visit Ireland for a number of weeks early in 2018. Their visit coincided with our first ever church weekend in Castlewellan Castle and they were able to get to meet many of the families who have joined our fellowship in more recent years.
Currently Cesar is Principal of St Andrew’s School Lima (founded by Church of Scotland missionaries). Jessica is currently teaching Hebrew (part-time) at Lima University and studying for a Masters degree in Family Science (counselling). Cesar junior is working in a bank, whilst Carlos is still studying at University.
